Bedourie to the banks of the Cooper Creek

Tues 5 July 2016 - Day 16

Little pair of yeehaa's sitting at the front of Bronnys tent ready to start the day! Off to some familiar territory today to Windorah which we almost made it to last year on our way to Jundah.

The sandunes rolling sporadically through this part of Queensland is amazing... going through a wet channel creek and then adjoining it 70m to one side is a big red sandune..extraordinary.

Morning tea stop on the Diamantina development road somewhere....with an icely cold wind so it was a quickie !!

Windorah 10km away from the Cooper Creek. A cute little town with one house homing a Drover who prime time was the 1940's - 'Tarmac' Jack his longest was 28 weeks and 5 days from Barcaldine to Moree. Great paper clipping in the tourist info centre about him....

Our free camp for the night was on the banks of the Coopers Creek - the creek was very high compared to last year and just stunning as the trees were all so fresh and glossy

Eva's little craft experiment as part of her Australia Badge challenge  she created a little witches hat out of clay and it almost made it home....it dreied really well on a shovel next to the fire that night!!
