Kings Canyon to Uluru
Tues 28 June - Day 10
Such an amazing start to the day..fresh and fabulous ! Packed up after sunrise to head off to Kings Canyon....we did the Canyon Creek walk and it was just sublime...gorgeous colours of the rock and understorey plants as well as the colours and texture of all the foliage as you look up the canyon and creek area.
Beautiful holly grevillea........
Such a gorgeous time of the day the sunshine was beautiful and the kids loved the walk up through the creek area....you could see early morning walkers heading round the rim walk of Kings Canyon.
The team at Kings Canyon...it was seriously fresh in theshade of those rocks....we scooted back out like reptiles into the sun....chasing the sun at the moment its been such a cool start to the trip!
From Kings Canyon we scooted off to Yulara about 300km to meet the plane with Mum flying in from Sydney. We arrived about 10 mins after the plane and picked up the new VIP....we're all wondering though what she'll think of the theme song for the tour ??
Happy campers heading off to Yulara campground for a few nights to enjoy Uluru and the Olgas !! we got to camp and got sorted and set up as we were off to experience 'The Field of Lights" which was brilliant! All rugged up in our jackets and beanies we headed off to the secret destination where 50,000 glass stems with 380,000km of cabling sitting on about the area of seven footy fields...spectacular ! You could walk in and thorough it all on designated paths and they would subtley move with the breeze and change colour every so gently it was so beautiful to walk through and see for as long as we chose too. Great start to our stay!
